2024: VHS Rewind!
The Today show folks decided to take their costumes back to an era of media, with their throwback to the world of movies coming out on VHS! Dylan Dreyer and Al Roker celebrated Beetlejuice by dressing up as the title character and Lydia Deetz, while Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb channeled Jack and Rose from Titanic. Sheinelle Jones and Carson Daly got their groove on as Foxxy Cleopatra and Austin Powers from the Austin Powers movies, and Craig Melvin embraced Axel F. Foley from Beverly Hills Cop. Willie Geist paid homage to Anchorman, Laura Jarrett was Gabrielle Union from Bring It On and Peter Alexander played Mrs. Doubtfire for the cameras. But the real surprise came from Savannah Guthrie, who brought out Luke Wilson to play Emmett to her Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.
2023: “Kelly-oke” Sing-Along!
This year was all about honoring some of the best singers throughout music history! With the help of Kelly Clarkson, Today decided to use Halloween as a way to nod to the talk show host’s iconic “Kelly-oke” segment. Carson Daly came out dressed as Neil Diamond, Craig Melvin celebrated 50 years of hip hop as MC Hammer and Dylan Dreyer danced her way on stage as P!nk. If that wasn’t all, Willie Geist serenaded the crowd as Harry Styles while Weekend Today anchors Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander dressed up as Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The real kickers? Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb as Sonny and Cher, Al Roker rocking a wig as Lionel Richie, Sheinelle Jones as Diana Ross and Savannah Guthrie giving an epic performance as Taylor Swift!

We also saw some of the most iconic Super Bowl halftime performers thanks to Al Roker dressing up as The Weeknd and Sheinelle Jones showing us her Bruno Mars-inspired moves.
