In fact, the members-only warehouse is the perfect place to get your essentials in bulk. And when you’re preparing for Easter Sunday, it’s a good idea to get more of your favorite items than you think you’ll need. If you’re not a member, you’ll need to join the club to get in on all of the warehouse’s year-rounding savings.

Will Costco be open on Easter?
No, unfortunately Costco is closed on Easter. According to the superstore’s website, all of Costco’s U.S. warehouses close for Easter, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Christmas. ALDI, H-E-B, Sam’s Club, and Publix will be closed on Easter Sunday as well.
What other stores are open on Easter?
Just because Costco is closed doesn’t mean you’re totally out of luck. Here are all of the grocery stores open on Easter, under their update COVID-19 response hours:
- Food Lion: Operating under regular hours.
- Fresh Market: Stores are operating with normal hours. All seniors and at-risk customers can shop 8 to 9 a.m.
- Giant Food: Modified hours are 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. All seniors and at-risk costumers can shop 6 to 7 a.m.
- Kmart: Operating under regular hours.
- Kroger: Adjusted store hours vary by location, but most are open from 7 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. Find your local store hours here.
- Safeway: Some stores have adjusted hours, depending on location. Every store is open from 7 to 9 a.m. for the elderly and vulnerable to shop.
- Save-A-Lot: Operating under regular hours.
- Target: All stores close by 9 p.m. Every store is dedicating the first hour each Wednesday for elderly and vulnerable to shop.
- Trader Joe’s: All stores are open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Select stores will open early for elderly and at-risk customers.
- Walmart: All 24-hour stores have reduced hours, opening from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Stores currently operating under more reduced hours will keep their normal hours. From now through April 28, stores open one hour early on Tuesday for 60 and older to shop.
- Wegmans: Stores in Brooklyn and New Jersey are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All other locations are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Whole Foods: Some stores have adjusted hours, depending on location. All stores open one hour early for elderly and at-risk customers to shop.

Here’s what else you need to know about grabbing some last minute essentials from Costco. Costco has cut its weekday hours during the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, stores will close at 6:30 pm.
Costco also joins the list of grocery stores offering senior shopping hours. From 8 to 9 a.m on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, it will exclusively be open to people with physical impairments and people over 60 years of age, according to Costco’s website. Additionally, Costco will no longer allow more than two people to enter the warehouse per membership card.
