Now that July Fourth cookouts and family gatherings are back in full swing, we’ll bet it’s all too easy to forget an essential ingredient or two when prepping for your post-COVID holiday party this summer. The good news? Your neighborhood Publix is likely to be open during it’s full operating hours on the Fourth of July this Sunday.
You may find yourself on the hunt for somewhere to grab fresh bread, milk or a deli side or two since grocers like Sam’s Club and Trader Joe’s will be operating on slightly reduced hours during the holiday. Publix, however, will be available to shoppers across the Southeast as most of its stores in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida will open and operate all departments (even the bakery!) during the holiday.

Will Publix be open on July 4th, 2021?
Short answer: Yes! Most Publix stores will be open and operating Sunday during the Fourth of July, with normal hours extending from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. While most departments will be open, your local Publix Pharmacy may be closed during the holiday as it did during Memorial Day.
Since Publix allows its stores to adjust their own hours as needed, it’s always a good idea to check with your local supermarket on operating hours for those late-night sparkler runs. The company really only mandates that grocers close three times a year: on Easter, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If your local Publix is deviating from normal business hours for Independence Day, you’ll see special signage this week notifying you about it. But most of its 1,200+ locations across the region are running special July Fourth deals in its weekly circular that you can enjoy right up until the holiday. You’ll catch us munching on BOGO potato chips and Publix’s signature Sweet Tea this weekend for a truly memorable celebration.
