February is right around the corner, which means it’s just about time to start getting serious about your Valentine’s Day shopping. Whether it’s for your kids, friends or partner, there’s one place that’s guaranteed to have all the viral Valentine’s Day finds: Dollar Tree.

But before you start browsing, there’s a particular Dollar Tree find that’s made a name for itself as one of the most (if not the most) popular gifts of the season by Reddit and TikTok users alike — a recordable mixtape.

They come in two cute designs, one in red that says “Love Songs” and one in pink that says “Mixtape 4 You.” But shoppers don’t just love them for their nostalgic look, they’re obsessed with the personal recording feature.

According to Nichole of @couponcutiecanada, all you need to do is insert a couple batteries and hold down the button to record a sweet message. Then, your valentine can tap the button to hear the message back.

While social media users are absolutely obsessed with these recordable cassettes (as are we!), they’re also becoming frustrated with how difficult they are to find. With no online purchase option, many shoppers are rushing to their local Dollar Tree in hopes they’ll carry the viral cassette. Unfortunately, many are coming back empty-handed.

Although they’re not exactly the same as the Dollar Tree design, we found a few good choices available at retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Etsy so you can still surprise your valentine with a cute personalized message come February 14. All you have to do now is rehearse your romantic voice memo!
