Some folks might still be recovering from the holiday season, but once January 1 hit, many of us were already focused on the next big celebration — Valentine’s Day. Although the holiday seems to be a “love it” or “hate it” holiday, even the naysayers can’t resist Starbucks’ latest seasonal drop.
The 2024 Starbucks’ exclusive Valentine’s Day collection features five different cup designs, from floral-printed compact mugs and a six-pack of reusable printed to-go cups to a cold cup that has its very own heart-shaped straw-topper. And with Starbucks’ “unofficial” Valentine’s Day drink trending on TikTok, it’s only reasonable to have a matching cup to go along with it.
We know, we know — the point of a reusable cup is to have one, maybe two, that you rotate in and out. But when it comes to Starbucks’ seasonal and holiday cups and merch, how can we say no? Plus, as dedicated Starbuckgoers know, “any Starbucks Rewards members who bring a clean, personal cup will earn 25 stars in addition to 10 cents off their beverage.” This goes for customers who order in-store, on the Starbucks app or through the drive-thru.
Here’s everything we know about the designs you can look forward to scoring, how much you can expect to pay and where you’re most likely to find them.
The Tri-Color Gradient Cold Cup (20 oz, $22.59) looks like a cotton candy dream. The ombre design features a reflective greenish-blue color up by the lid, which transforms into a bright, matte pink and then into a vibrant light teal color at the bottom. The brand says the colors are supposed to give a “sweet nod to colorful conversation hearts.”
The Valentine’s Day Floral Mug (14 oz, $16.95) looks like the perfect thing to sip a hot drink from on a cold winter day and hunker down with a book, blanket and perhaps a furry friend. Clearly not the cup you want if you’re running errands or in the car, but for a cozy day or night in, it’s just what you need.
We don’t know what we love more about this Hydrangeas & Hearts Cold Cup (24 oz, $24.95) — the iridescent design or the rare adorable heart-shaped straw topper. The cup, which features a reflective “inner” layer with a clear layer over-top that’s printed with red, light blue and pink hearts and flower petals, is only available at Starbucks stores within Target stores.
The Reusable Color-Changing Hot Cup Set (16 oz, $19.95) screams “Perfect Galentine’s Day” gift. You not only get six for less than $20, but the cups change color when hot liquid is poured inside.
Not much of a coffee person? No problem! The Heart Water Bottle (20 oz, $24) is a glass bottle only available in certain Starbucks stores in grocery stores, hospitals and universities. Although it might be trickier to track down, we can’t say that it’s cute design doesn’t make it worth it.
And speaking of gifts, when in doubt, you can’t go wrong with a gift card. It’s the perfect V-Day gift for parents, college kids, friends and other relatives. This February, Starbucks’ has got you covered with the specially designed Valentine’s Day gift card, available for a limited time only. You can purchase one in-store or buy an eGift to send via email or iMessage with the same design. Both can be preloaded with up to $100.
